JOB SUMMARY:
Design custom tooling, fixturing, and gauging. Maintain Engineering Masters
so that processes are kept up-to-date with current tooling requirements.
Track tooling projects sent out to vendors to make sure tooling is available
when needed. Troubleshoot tooling issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design tooling, fixturing, and gauging for
manufacturing purpose based on operation sketches from Process Engineers.

Design tooling using Unigraphics Solid Modeling
software (Version NX5).
|
|
Create Engineering Masters for tooling that will be
made in-house.
|
|
Evaluate and implement suggestions from operators
that will improve tooling.
|
|
Interface with purchasing and outside vendors on
tooling requirements.
|
|
Maintain a schedule to make sure tooling will be
available when needed.
|
|
Aid in troubleshooting problems related to tooling
issues.
|
|
Provide suggestions to Process Engineers for process
improvement.
|
|
Maintaining the Engineering Master to make sure
tooling is kept up-to-date.
|
|
Provide tooling requirements for jobs in the quoting
stage.
|
|
Review incoming quotes along with customer prints
providing feedback on manufacturing difficulties.
|
|
Make minor updates to Engineering Masters that have
Engineering Change Notices against them.
|
Experience: 5-10 years.
Skills: NX5 Unigraphics CAD Solid Modeling, Visual, Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook
